
Jennifer has always wanted to be multi-tasking and a star. In her youth she was a fan of a range of genres of music, but she particularly enjoyed Afro-Caribbean music like salsa, merengue and bachata, and pop music hip-hop, hip-hop, and R&B. Even though she loved movies, the music industry attracted her. West Side Story (1961) the musical by Rita Moreno that greatly influenced her is also her biggest source of inspiration. At 5, Jennifer began taking singing and dancing lessons. Jennifer as well as being an entertainer , as well as a Catholic schoolgirl, attended 8 years at Holy Family Catholic Middle School located in The Bronx. After a time of four years and graduation, she attended Preston High School, an all-girls preparatory school. Jennifer performed well in the sports department at school and participated in tennis as well as track and field. She spent most of her growing up in a house with two stories in the Castle Hill neighborhood. Jennifer left home when she was 18 and moved in with her family. At this point, Lopez worked at a law firm , while taking dancing gigs at night.
